Padel, tennis and squash in central Funchal, booked on the SIMplifica portal. The whole route step by step, the official prices, and the week when it all costs nothing.
Book — step 1 of 5European Week of Sport: the Regional Sports Directorate waives the fees for its sports facilities from 23 to 30 September inclusive. You still have to book on SIMplifica — there is just nothing to pay. Mornings and early evenings go first.
Three padel courts, four tennis courts and a squash court on Rua Dr. Pita. Open 9 am to 10 pm on weekdays and Saturdays, 9 am to 8 pm on Sundays and holidays. Each court is booked separately: «Padel 1», «Padel 2» and «Padel 3» are different options in the portal — if one is full, try the next.

Official fee table (Portaria 505/2019). A private person pays without VAT: padel is 8 € an hour in the day and 10 € after 6 pm and at weekends. One hour minimum; each extra half hour costs half.
On SIMplifica the service is called «Reserva de espaços desportivos Quinta Magnólia». Searching the portal for «Magnólia» finds it too.
Open the booking on SIMplificaScroll to the very bottom: the «Ver disponibilidade» block, field «Selecione o campo». For padel, choose «Campo de Padel 1», 2 or 3.
«Período da reserva» opens a week view in 30-minute slots. Pink ones are taken. Tick two slots in a row — one hour is the minimum — and press «Confirmar».
Each slot shows occupancy: «1/1» means full. During the free week, nothing was left for 25–27 September already on the 23rd.
In «Intervenientes», pick the number of players from the list — for padel usually 4. Then «Solicitar»: the portal opens a request with its own number.
The form asks for the type (Pessoa Singular — private person, or Empresa), name, NIF, email and phone. The «Desconto» field is where you choose the 65+ or Cartão Jovem reduction. The portal then creates the booking and moves to payment: Multibanco reference or card. The deadline is short — two to twenty-four hours, depending on how far ahead you book.
