Since 2026 every classified trail is booked on SIMplifica. Residents don't pay, but they still book. The whole route, with no portal account, and the traps we ran into.
Book — step 1 of 7The resident card makes the ticket free, but the ticket is still required for every outing. The booking is how they control how many people are on a trail at once.

Visitor fees. The portal picks the cheapest option itself — per trail or daily. Portaria 801/2025 as amended by Portaria 48/2026.
The service is called «Pagamento de Taxas para acesso aos Percursos Pedestres Classificados». You don't need to log in to SIMplifica: we did the whole booking without registering.
Open the booking on SIMplificaAt the bottom of the page, the «Ver disponibilidade» block, field «Percursos Pedestres» — type part of the name, for example «Balc» for PR 11. «Período da reserva» opens a week in 30-minute slots: pink ones are full, and you can pick only one slot. «Confirmar», then «Solicitar».
Hover over a slot: the portal shows free places for residents, visitors and operators separately.
Enter your email — the tickets go there. «Solicitar NIF para faturação» only if you need an invoice with a tax number. Of the three boxes, two are mandatory: personal responsibility on the trail and the refund rule. The third is only for people with a disability above 60 %.
The same screen has two blocks, «Não residentes» and «Residentes», each with adults, children up to 12 and disability cases. Residents and visitors fit in one request — no need to book separately.
At «Inserir NIF residentes» the portal asks for one NIF per resident. That is how it checks residency: no login, no card number.
The portal shows the trail and time again and asks whether you want to add another booking to the request.
Say «yes» by accident and the request holds two bookings — you pay twice. We fell for it: one visitor, 9.00 € instead of 4.50 €. Say «no» unless you really want a second trail.
The last screen shows the amount and the payment deadline. Press «Resumo» first and check everything, then «Pagar». Tickets and invoice arrive by email.
